CHRISTMAS FROM A
SHOE CARTON

Gifts from a child's perspective

‘Geschenke der Hoffnung’ (Gifts of hope) is an organisation that stands by it’s values of aiding people in need with spiritual and material support. The gift ‘Weihnachten im Schuhkarton’ (Christmas in a shoe box) is a focus of this work. Through the website, Charitible people are given the direct relationship to children living in hardship by gifting a personal package. Geschenke der Hoffnung live by the motto “Make a difference with small things”, and thus support children who suffer from various hardships and deprivation are greeted with gifts of appreciation and care.

To support this action, Yellow Tree have developed through diligent consideration in the planning stage a conception for the entire website design. Special elements such as donation sliders and slick layovers simplify and make donating through the website a gratifying experience. In addition we’ve implemented a variety of projects, such as a donation portal and a platform for the transfer of project sponsorships.

A virtual shoe box for real joy

We’ve developed a registration portal, through which voluntary helpers can register for active support in the ‘Christmas workshop’. Interested volunteers can view dates and vacancies here, and a clever well implemented registration tool enhances the process to signup. A special focus on responsive design for the online shoe boxes, which has been implemented successfully. The virtual shoe box can be put together by using either a laptop, mobile phone or tablet, making a gift minimal fuss. At the centre however, the shoe box remains totally customizable and individual, the user is able to choose either gender, age, to what type of box will be packaged, including contents. The transaction is completed via an online payment procedure.

The future is online

With our fully integrated concept, the process of donating and searching for information is increasingly being shifted to digital. Because of this we’re certain that the the future of charity and aid organizations will be online-based. On average, more donations are being generated online and the administrative costs are pertinently reduced by a large number, directly correlating to benefit to those in need.
